Have you got cleaning on the brain?
I don’t blame you. With a very busy family, a baby on the way and a dog that sheds I am cleaning up after my family weekly if not daily.
But we don’t spend crazy amounts of money on cleaning solutions – nope. Just a few simple ingredients and a whole lot of clean.
A few years ago we went DIY with our cleaning solution.
Have you ever looked at the ingredients in your cleaning solution? There is usually a bunch of really long words that you can not pronounce. Most of them chemicals.
As a Mom of young children and a fur baby I questioned the chemicals and how well they really get stuff clean and whether they are good for us health wise.
When your children are sticking things in their mouths, rolling around on the floor and generally just being kids you don’t want chemicals to be one of the things you’re thinking about.
So we went natural and haven’t looked back! And the house smells amazing and all for pennies a cleaning session.
My favorite cleaning solution.
All you need to clean the whole house, toilet bowls included is dish soap, vinegar, water and essential oils. I usually mix up a spray bottle per week or bi-weekly.
The recipe is super simple. 50/50 water and vinegar, a squirt of liquid dish soap and 10 drops of your favorite essential oil.
Essential oils are great disinfectants and antibacterial. I love the cinnamon and clove smells or peppermint for cleaning.
But they recommend during pregnancy you stay away from peppermint essential oils so I have been using lavender which smells great.
This solution does a great job of cleaning up even the worst messes.

7. Dyson Vacuum
I love my Dyson vacuum and have had it for years. No more messing with filters or bags and this thing picks up all the dust, dirt and pet hair. Use it on hardwood, tile or carpet.
Start making cleaning easier.
Set aside a few hours to clean the house once a week or once every two weeks. Or do what we do during really busy weeks and set aside two cleaning times to get it all done.
I may dust and vacuum one day and do the kitchen and bathrooms another. I rearrange the cleaning to work with my schedule.
Getting the family involved is another great way to get the cleaning done in less time.
Have a great day,
